Party Poker Charity Tournament for Haiti
Party Poker is one of those online poker rooms that have decided to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake. The poker room has decided to hold a charity tournament to raise funds for Haiti.
This charity tournament will be organized on February 7, Sunday for a buy-in of $50+$5. Most of the fees will be used for the benefit of the people of Haiti. In addition, Party Poker intends to match the tournament registration fees per player, which means that whenever a player buys in to this charity tournament, $10 will be set aside for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. The funds will then be sent to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), a group of 13 charitable organizations based in the UK.
The charity tournament has a guaranteed prize pot of $25,000. Players do not really need to buy-in for $50, especially if they are burdened with a slim bankroll. They can qualify for the charity tournament by participating in Party Poker’s daily satellites, which will be held from today to February 7 at 2:30 p.m. ET.
Party Poker is not the only online poker room to have decided to do something for Haiti. Full Tilt Poker as well as PokerStars organized charity tournaments, enabling their players to donate their mite to the cause. Both sites matched all donations received.
UB Poker organized a charity poker tournament during the previous week. DoylesRoom donated all the tournament fees of Jan 20; moreover, it matched the bounty income generated during its $50,000 guaranteed tournament.
